What’s great about Synch Bands is that you’ll never have to tie your shoes ever again! You can now be as creative as you want in your lacing patterns and all you have to do is to make sure the two metal ends are locked into place.

No matter how you decide to Synch your shoes, here are some steps to make sure you get the perfect fit every time

Keep in mind: It’ll be a trial-and-error experience with the first shoe you Synch as you figure out the lace pattern you want and the amount of tension that is comfortable for you.

1. Remove the original lace from your shoe.

2. Loosely lace up your shoe without your foot in it.

3. Go about 3/4 of the way up and then slide in your foot.

4. Adjust the tension of your Synch Bands by gently pulling on the Synch Bands until they feel snug.
*Note: avoid overstretching your Synch Bands as you want your shoe to feel snug yet still have enough stretch to allow your foot to slip in and out.

5. Keep lacing your shoe up until you either run out of lace or eyelets, and then lock the metal ends under your eyelets.

If you have excess lace, here’s what you do:

1. Pull the slack out of one side of your Synch Bands so that its metal end locks under the eyelet.

2. Pull the excess lace through the Synch Bands until you only have excess on one end.

3. Grab a Synch Clip and lock the metal end into the center hole.

4. Loop the excess lace back through the center opening in the Synch Clip so that you can’t see the metal end. Then, pull the lace back to secure it into the center hole.

5. Tuck the loop under the eyelets, along the length of the shoe towards the toe and cover it with the shoe’s tongue.

You’re done!

You’ve Synch’d your first shoe, and now know the lace pattern and tension that gives you your perfect fit.  Your next shoe can now be done in half the amount of time

Although Synch Bands can be custom fit to your foot by using the Synch Clip to cinch up excess lace, we released different sizes to keep the amount of excess lace to a minimum

We know shoes come in all shapes and sizes so we set out to research shoes and their eyelets to see if we can use those to help in sizing.

So after several months of counting, measuring, and calculating, we found that shoes fall into three (3) categories:

Narrow – The shoe’s eyelets are narrowly spaced across, above, and below each other. Classic Vans, boat and dress shoes fall into this category.
Medium- Nearly all shoes fall into this category. They include Chuck Taylors, Nikes, running shoes, and every other shoe that is not Narrow or Wide.
Wide - The shoe’s eyelets are widely spaced across, above, and below each other. Primarily skate shoes, like DCs and Etnies, with their thick tongues fall into this category.

We also found that the number of eyelet pairs vary depending on shoe size. The smaller the shoe, the less eyelet pairs it had.

So we combined these two pieces of info to help anyone quickly figure out what size Synch Bands would fit best for them.

The size chart is a general guideline for anyone that wants to Synch up their shoes using a traditional lacing pattern.

With any guideline, there are exceptions:
If you know that you want to lace up your shoes using a Bar Pattern or two (2) colors in your lace pattern then simply go down to the next eyelet grouping to find the right sized Synch Bands. For example, a pair of Chucks that would normally require a Large pair of Synch Bands would be better suited for Mediums.
If you know that you want to lace up your shoes using a Weave Pattern then simply go up to the next eyelet grouping to find the right sized Synch Bands.

We hope this helps you quickly and easily figure out what Synch Bands to get for you or someone else.

Aura Skate Park in Vista, CA put on a great Best Trick Contest and BBQ that brought out all ages, skills levels, with boys and girls showing off their best skate tricks to win some really sick prize packs that included Vestal watches, decks, sunglasses, wheels, footwear, and of course Synch Bands

Synch Bands has supported the park since it first opened and we were super excited to see our banner hung on the wall for everyone to see that Synch Bands are the new way to deal with the problem of busted laces, untied shoelaces, and laces that are ridiculously too long. It’s time to Replace the Lace with the coolest elastic shoelaces. Period.

Jeff King from Built to Shred fame was there to support this awesome skate park and MC the entire all-day event.

One of the winners, Irvin, was super stoked to win some Synch Bands. He had seen them before and really wanted to get them on his shoes cuz his normal laces were busting in a day. He showed me his VOX shoes that he just got the day before and the laces were already busted. So, we Replaced the Lace right there after his first event win and he then skated the rest of the day with them in and LOVED THEM!!

Shoes were by far my favorite Back-to-School item. Anything could look good with a sweet pair of kicks. My favorite shoes were Chucks and Vans (actually they still are). They always looked so clean and displayed perfectly on the wall…how could I pick just one color or style for the whole year?? I had to get at least two pairs to change it up

My excitement usually wore off when I got home and put my new kicks on…uggh something didn’t look right! I had the same shoe I saw in the store, so what was different??…THE BOWS! My bows were messing up the clean, crisp look I fell in love with in the store. Dang marketing guys for knowing how to display the shoes so I’ll want to buy them.

Well, I wasn’t going to return the shoes, so if I wanted to get that same look I was going to have to tuck the laces into the shoe and then live with having to wear a loose shoe, the discomfort of having shoelaces sliding around inside my shoe, and god-forbid the plastic end of the lace were to pop up and jab me in my foot ugghh! But hey, I was willing to sacrifice comfort to get the look I wanted.

Flash-forward 20+ years and I’m super stoked to say those days of choosing fashion over comfort are over!!

I invented Synch Bands to make sure you get that clean, crisp, no-bow look that all the shore stores use to display their shoes, without having to tuck in laces and have them dangling inside your shoe, plus I made them with elastic so there’s no need to wear super loose shoes just so you can slide your foot in and out.
